Podcasts

So, I have podcasted before and I will most likely do it again. I enjoyed looking at some of the podcast resources that were not ITunes which is what I usually use to get my podcasts. I didn't find anything of any real interest to me in the directories today but I plan to check back later and see what I can find. They are a good resource for the future and it is good to know about them even if I can not find a use for them today. Today's lesson did however remind me of the existence of "this american life" and I am now catching up with that. The two podcast directories I looked at were Podcastalley.com and Yahoo Podcasts. I tried to look at podcast.net but the link didn't work for me. I found that Podcastalley.com was easier to use then the Yahoo podcasts. I found a podcast on old time radio detectives on Podcastalley.com that looked interesting and that I might listen to in the future. I also found that on Podcastalley.com it is sometimes hard to tell what the podcasts are about and they need better descriptions on some of them. I also am thinking about listening to the Hogwarts Radio podcast, would you consider this library related?

  1. Yes, Dorian. The Harry Potter series is an excellent example that brings up many questions that are library related. Harry Potter tops ALA's list of the most challenged books of 21st Century . The Harry Potter series in audiobook format was a very good read during my drive back and forth to work.

  2. A podcast I listened to just today was by another author I listen to often, Jodi Picoult. The topic of her latest podcast is also about how one of her books attempted to be banned by a concerned parent group and instead resulted in having the district introduce more of her books into their curriculum.
